The great myna, also known as the white-vented myna, is a species of starling in the family Sturnidae. It is currently classified as a species of Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Identification

  • Plumage: Primarily black with white from the vent to the tip of the tail and a white wing patch.
  • Head: Features elongated forehead feathers that form a frontal crest, which may curl backwards.
  • Bill and Legs: Both the beak and feet are yellow.

Habitat

The species' range extends from Sikkim across Northeast India and Indochina.
