Overview

The black-browed reed warbler (Acrocephalus bistrigiceps) is a marsh-warbler in the family Acrocephalidae that was formerly part of the Old World warbler assemblage. It is a species of conservation concern due to habitat loss.

Habitat

The species breeds from eastern Mongolia and south-eastern Russia to eastern China and Japan, and winters in Southeast Asia. It inhabits undisturbed reed beds and marsh vegetation, which are increasingly replaced by rice paddies and fishponds.
