Mountain Fulvetta

Overview

The mountain fulvetta (Alcippe peracensis) is a 14 to 15.5 cm long species of bird in the family Leiothrichidae. It is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Identification

• Plumage features a warm brown back and tail, whitish underparts, a grey face, and a slate grey crown bordered below with a black line.
• Size is approximately 14 to 15.5 cm in length.
• Song is described as yi-yuii-uwee-uwee.

Habitat

Found in Cambodias, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, inhabiting subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It occurs primarily above 900 m, which distinguishes it from the black-browed fulvetta that occupies lower altitudes.
