Overview

The yellow-gorgeted greenbul (Atimastillas flavicollis), formerly known as the yellow-throated leaflove, is a passerine bird in the bulbul family Pycnonotidae. It is classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List and is currently monotypic with no recognised subspecies.

Habitat

This species is found in West Africa, inhabiting subtropical or tropical dry forests, moist savanna, and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland.

The species has a complex taxonomic history, having been moved to the genus Atimastillas in 2010 after previously being classified in genera such as Haematornis, Chlorocichla, Criniger, Ixus, and Xenocichla.
