The lesser shortwing is a species of chat now classified in the family Muscicapidae. It is currently listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This bird is found in south-eastern Asia, including Sumatra, Java, and the Lesser Sundas. Its natural habitat consists of subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
