Overview

The firethroat, also known as David's rubythroat or Père David's orangethroat, is a passerine bird in the family Muscicapidae found in western and central China. It is currently classified as Near Threatened by the IUCN Red List due to habitat loss.

Habitat

This species inhabits temperate forests, breeding in Sichuan, China, and wintering primarily in the Indian subcontinent. Its wintering range spans across Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Tibet, and Myanmar.
