Overview

The great rosefinch is a species of finch in the family Fringillidae. Previously, some of its subspecies were considered separate species, such as the spotted great rosefinch and the Caucasian great rosefinch, but they are now classified as four subspecies of Carpodacus rubicilla.

Habitat

Found across a wide range from Afghanistan, Armenia, and Azerbaijan to China, the species inhabits natural environments of tundra and temperate grassland. Its range extends through countries including Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, India, Pakistan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
