Sikkim Treecreeper

Overview

The Sikkim treecreeper (Certhia discolor) is a bird species belonging to the treecreeper family. It is currently listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Identification

• A rich cinnamon throat and breast is observed in the subspecies C. d. manipurensis, although this form is now usually treated as a separate species, Hume's treecreeper.

Habitat

Found in Bhutan, Nepal, and Northeast India, this species inhabits temperate forests as well as subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It typically occupies broadleaf and mixed forests, foraging at the middle and upper levels.
