Glistening-green Tanager

Overview

The glistening-green tanager (Chlorochrysa phoenicotis) is a bird species belonging to the family Thraupidae. It is classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Identification

• Males are almost entirely bright glistening emerald green, featuring small gray patches behind and below the eye, with additional grey markings on the shoulders.
• Females display similar plumage but are slightly duller than males.

Habitat

This species is native to Colombia and Ecuador, where it inhabits subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
