Overview

The grey shrikethrush, formerly known as the grey thrush, is a moderately common to common songbird of Australasia. It is found across most of Australia, except for the driest inland deserts, and in New Guinea.

Identification

  • Medium-sized bird, approximately 24 cm long, with dull plumage lacking bright colours.
  • Recognisable by its ringing melody.

Habitat

Found across most of Australia, excluding the driest inland deserts, and in New Guinea.
