The tamarugo conebill (Conirostrum tamarugense) is a bird species in the family Thraupidae that receives its name from the tamarugo shrub, to which it is closely associated. It is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species breeds in northern Chile and is a vagrant to southern Peru. Its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, dry and high-altitude shrublands, and plantations.
