Overview

The eastern bearded greenbul (Criniger chloronotus) is a species of songbird belonging to the bulbul family, Pycnonotidae. It is currently classified as a species of Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

Found from south-eastern Nigeria through the Central African Republic, northern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Congo, and extreme north-western Angola, the species inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland and montane forests.

Did you know?

The bird is known by numerous alternate names, including 'Congo bulbul' and 'white-throated bulbul', though the latter names should not be confused with Alophoixus flaveolus.
