The northern puffback (Dryoscopus gambensis) is a species of bird in the family Malaconotidae. It is classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List and forms a superspecies with the black-backed puffback.

Habitat

This species is found in northern sub-Saharan Africa, where its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, mangrove forests, and moist savannas. It is replaced by the black-backed puffback in eastern equatorial and southern Africa.
