Overview

The striated laughingthrush (Grammatoptila striata) is a passerine bird in the family Leiothrichidae. It was formerly placed in the genus Garrulax but is now recognised as the only species in the resurrected genus Grammatoptila. The species is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

It inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Its range covers the northern temperate regions of the Indian subcontinent, specifically Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Tibet and Nepal.
