The long-tailed sibia (Heterophasia picaoides) is a species of bird in the family Leiothrichidae from Southeast Asia. It is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This bird inhabits evergreen forest, oak and pine forests, secondary growth, scrub with large trees, and forest edge habitats. Its range extends from the Himalayas through Southeast Asia and Sumatra.

Taxonomically, the species was formerly placed in the large family Timaliidae but is now often grouped with laughingthrushes in the family Leiothrichidae. It is sometimes treated as the sole species in the genus Heterophasia, with its relatives moved to the genus Malacias.
