Overview

The Yemen linnet is a species of finch in the family Fringillidae. It is native to the Southwestern Arabian foothills savanna in Saudi Arabia and Yemen, where it resides in subtropical or tropical dry shrubland.

Habitat

This bird lives in subtropical or tropical dry shrubland. Its range is restricted to the Southwestern Arabian foothills savanna, covering parts of Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

Did you know?

Despite not yet having been examined genetically, the Yemen linnet was moved from the genus Carduelis to Linaria solely on the basis of its plumage similarities to the common linnet, Linaria cannabina.
