Overview

The Himalayan black-lored tit (Machlolophus xanthogenys) is a passerine bird in the tit family Paridae, also known simply as the black-lored tit. It is classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List and is closely related to the yellow-cheeked and yellow tits.

Habitat

This species is a resident breeder along the Himalayas in the Indian subcontinent, including Nepal. It is known as "Pandu Chichilkote" in the Nepali language.

Diet

An active and agile feeder, it takes insects and spiders from the forest canopy and sometimes consumes fruit. It forages within the canopy of forested areas.
