Overview

The forest rock thrush (Monticola sharpei) is a songbird in the family Muscicapidae that was formerly placed in the Turdidae. It currently includes Benson's rock thrush and the Amber Mountain rock thrush as subspecies.

Habitat

Endemic to Madagascar, with its type locality in the forests east of Ambatondrazaka south of Lake Alaotra. It inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.
