Overview

The dark newtonia, Newtonia amphichroa, is a species of bird in the family Vangidae. It is endemic to Madagascar and currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is restricted to northeastern Madagascar, with subspecies populations also noted in montane regions of the north and south.
