Overview

The green-headed oriole, also known as the montane oriole, is a species of bird in the family Oriolidae native to eastern Africa. It is currently classified as a species of Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species inhabits subtropical or tropical dry lowland forests as well as subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Its range covers eastern Africa, with subspecies distributed across south-eastern Kenya, eastern Tanzania, Malawi, and central and southern Mozambique.

Diet

The bird feeds on a varied diet consisting of fruit, seeds, nectar, and insects or insect larvae.
