Overview

Sclater's whistler, also known as the hill golden whistler, is a species of bird in the family Pachycephalidae. It is found exclusively in the highlands of New Guinea, and its current conservation status is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.

Habitat

This species inhabits the highlands of New Guinea, specifically within subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Four subspecies are recognised, ranging across north-western, central and eastern New Guinea, the Kumawa Mountains in the west, and south-eastern New Guinea along with Goodenough Island.
