Overview

The rufous-vented tit is an Asian songbird species belonging to the tit and chickadee family. It is a widespread and common resident across its range, classified as Least Concern by the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species inhabits boreal and temperate forests across parts of Bhutan, China, Pakistan, India, Myanmar and Nepal. In Bhutan, it is found in moist fir forests between approximately 3,000 and 4,000 metres above sea level.

Did you know?

Some subspecies of this bird were formerly assigned to its western relative, the rufous-naped tit, or the two species were previously considered entirely conspecific.
