The grey-hooded sierra finch (Phrygilus gayi) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

Found in Argentina and Chile, this species inhabits natural environments characterised by subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland.
