Overview

The yellow-streaked greenbul (Phyllastrephus flavostriatus), also known as the yellow-streaked bulbul, is a species of songbird in the family Pycnonotidae. It is currently classified as a species of Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests across eastern and south-eastern Africa. Its range spans from the highlands near Lake Albert and the Rwenzori Mountains in the Democratic Republic of Congo and surrounding countries, through parts of Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi and Mozambique, down to eastern South Africa.

Did you know?

Taxonomically, the yellow-streaked greenbul has a complex history, having originally been described in the genus Andropadus and with certain subspecies, such as P. f. tenuirostris, previously associated with the genus Xenocichla.
