Overview

The mountain tailorbird (Phyllergates cucullatus) is a songbird species native to the Purvanchal Range, southern China, and mountainous areas of Southeast Asia. It is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. Its range includes the Purvanchal Range, southern China, and mountainous regions of Southeast Asia.

The mountain tailorbird was formerly placed in the 'Old World warbler' assemblage before being reclassified into the genus Phyllergates within the family Cettiidae.
