Overview

The yellow-breasted warbler (Phylloscopus montis) is a species of Old World warbler in the family Phylloscopidae. It is found in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Palawan Island in the Philippines, and is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Its range covers Indonesia, Malaysia, and Palawan Island in the Philippines, with the highest concentrations on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo.

Diet

The species forages for food either alone or in small parties of no more than five birds.

Did you know?

The bird previously placed in the genus Seicercus was merged into Phylloscopus following a 2018 molecular phylogenetic study that found neither genus to be monophyletic.
