Lompobattang Leaf Warbler

Overview

The Lompobattang leaf warbler (Phylloscopus sarasinorum) is a species of Old World warbler in the family Phylloscopidae. It is classified as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List and is found exclusively on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. It is a distinct species from the Sulawesi leaf warbler (P. nesophilus), which was formerly considered conspecific.

Identification

• Dark brown crown with a broad, pale yellowish crown-stripe.
• Upperparts are olive brown, contrasting with whitish yellow underparts.
• A visible wingbar formed by pale feather tips.

Habitat

Found only in Sulawesi Island, Indonesia.

It was previously grouped under the same name as the Sulawesi leaf warbler (P. nesophilus), but recent analyses indicate that the two are actually distinct species.
