Overview

The grey-crowned warbler is a species of Old World warbler in the family Phylloscopidae. It was previously placed in the genus Seicercus but was moved to Phylloscopus following a 2018 molecular phylogenetic study.

Habitat

It is found in Bangladesh, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats include temperate forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

Neither the genus Phylloscopus nor Seicercus is monophyletic, leading to a major taxonomic reorganisation where the two genera were merged into Phylloscopus due to its priority under the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature.
