Streaked Weaver

Overview

The streaked weaver (Ploceus manyar) is a species of weaver bird found in South and South-east Asia. It is less common than the baya weaver but shares a similar appearance with distinct streaked underparts.

• Similar in appearance to the baya weaver.
• Features streaked underparts.

Habitat

Found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as being introduced in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The species nests in small colonies, often in reed beds near water bodies.
