Overview

Vieillot's black weaver (Ploceus nigerrimus) is a species of bird in the family Ploceidae, named after the French ornithologist Louis Pierre Vieillot. It was previously considered conspecific with the chestnut-and-black weaver but was split due to distinct plumage differences.

Habitat

This species is found in southern Nigeria, Uganda, western Kenya, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
