Overview

The Sichuan tit (Poecile weigoldicus) is a species of bird in the tit family Paridae that is endemic to central China. It was formerly treated as a subspecies of the willow tit before being promoted to species status in 2002 based on genetic analysis.

Habitat

This species inhabits Sichuan, south-eastern Qinghai, and north-western Yunnan provinces. It occurs in coniferous, mixed, and mature deciduous forests, woodland edges, scrub, and urban parks or gardens at altitudes ranging from 0 to 4,275 m.
