The red-winged prinia, also known as the red-winged warbler (Prinia erythroptera), is a bird species within the family Cisticolidae that was formerly classified in the monotypic genus Heliolais. It is currently assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species inhabits dry savanna environments across a wide range in sub-Saharan Africa. Its distribution includes Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
