Overview

The bar-winged prinia, also known as the bar-winged wren-warbler, is a species of bird in the cisticola family Cisticolidae. It is classified as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List.

Identification

  • Length: 13 cm
  • Weight: 8–10 g

Habitat

Endemic to Indonesia, the bar-winged prinia is found on the east of Sumatra, as well as Java and Bali. It occupies a wide range of habitats, from mangrove forest at sea level to montane forest, and is tolerant of human-modified environments such as gardens, parks and plantations.

Diet

The bar-winged prinia feeds on insects.
