Swainson's spurfowl, also known as Swainson's francolin (Pternistis swainsonii), is a species of bird in the family Phasianidae native to southern Africa. It is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List and is treated as a monotypic species.

Habitat

The species inhabits grasslands and woodlands across a wide range in southern Africa, including Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Eswatini, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
