Buffy Laughingthrush

Overview

The buffy laughingthrush, also known as the chestnut-winged laughingthrush, is a species of bird in the family Leiothrichidae. It was formerly considered a subspecies of the rusty laughingthrush but is now recognised as a distinct species restricted to Taiwan.

Identification

• Paler grey underparts compared to the rusty laughingthrush
• More contrasting rufous wings
• Broader white tips to the tail
• Distinct black lores

Habitat

The species is restricted to the island of Taiwan.
