Overview

The Sulawesi fantail (Rhipidura teysmanni) is a species of bird in the family Rhipiduridae. It is endemic to Sulawesi in Indonesia and is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is restricted to Sulawesi, Indonesia, with distinct subspecies found in the montane southwestern, central, southeastern, and northern regions of the island.

Did you know?

The subspecies R. t. coomansi was only recently recognised by the International Ornithological Congress in 2022.
