Overview

The sooty thicket fantail (Rhipidura threnothorax) is a species of bird in the family Rhipiduridae. It is endemic to New Guinea and is classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

The species inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests across New Guinea. Its range includes the Yapen and Raja Ampat Islands in the northwest, as well as the Aru Islands in the southwest.
