Overview

The slender-billed greenbul (Stelgidillas gracilirostris) is a species of passerine bird in the bulbul family. It is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species is found in western and central Africa, ranging from Senegal and Guinea-Bissau to southern Sudan, western Kenya, western Tanzania, south-central Democratic Republic of the Congo and north-western Angola, with a separate population in central Kenya. Its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

The bird was formally described in 1844 from a specimen collected on the island of Fernando Pó, now known as Bioko, off the west coast of Africa.
