Overview

The ratchet-tailed treepie (Temnurus temnurus), also known as the notch-tailed treepie, is a species of bird in the crow and jay family Corvidae. It is monotypic within the genus Temnurus.

Habitat

This species has a disjunct distribution across Southeast Asia and China, with populations in southern Thailand, southern Vietnam, central and northern Vietnam and Laos, and Hainan in China. Its natural habitat consists of tropical moist broadleaf evergreen lowland forests, as well as secondary forest and scrubland.
