The white-collared blackbird (Turdus albocinctus) is a species of bird in the family Turdidae. It is currently classified as Least Concern by the IUCN Red List.

Habitat

This species is found throughout the Indian subcontinent, ranging across Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan. Its natural habitats consist of subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland.

Diet

White-collared blackbirds feed their chicks on plant material, especially berries, as well as invertebrates such as arthropods and annelids.

On the Tibetan Plateau, these birds can breed twice a year, with the first breeding attempt resulting in smaller clutches of nestlings in high body condition, while the second attempt produces larger clutches with chicks in lower body condition.
