Pricing

Identifying a bird is free, and stays free. Pro is for keeping what you have found.

Three ways to pay

One subscription, billed by whichever store you installed from. The lifetime option is a single purchase rather than a subscription — you buy it once and it does not renew.

Monthly

$9.99per month

Cancel whenever you like. Useful if you mostly record in spring.

Lifetime

$99.99one payment

Bought once, kept for good. Pays for itself against the yearly plan in fifteen months.

Prices are in US dollars. The App Store and Google Play bill in your own currency at their regional rate, and show you the exact amount before you confirm anything.

What the free app does

The part people actually come for is not behind a paywall. You can record, upload audio you already have, run the identification, look through the results and boost any detection you like without paying for anything.

  • Identification of over 6,000 species, running on your device rather than on a server.
  • Recording in the field and uploading audio and video you already have.
  • Neural Boost on any detection: pull one bird forward and push the rest of the recording back.
  • Playing the boosted version back as many times as you want, with the faders under your hand.
  • Your library of past recordings and what was found in them.

What Pro adds

Pro unlocks exporting. Once a boost sounds right, Pro is what lets you save the finished clip out of the app — to keep, to send to somebody, or to attach to a record. Everything up to that point is free, so you always hear exactly what you would be paying to keep before you decide.

Billing

Who actually charges me?

Apple or Google, depending on where you installed the app. We never see your card details. Everything about the payment — the currency, the tax, the receipt — is handled by the store.

How do I cancel?

In the store, not in BirdAmp: Subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the renewal and you keep Pro until the period you have already paid for runs out.

What happens if a payment fails?

On Google Play there is a grace period — seven days on the monthly plan, fourteen on the yearly — during which Pro keeps working while the payment is retried. Sorting out the card in that window means nothing is interrupted.

I paid on my old phone. Do I have to pay again?

No. Sign in with the same account on the new phone and your purchase comes back. Lifetime purchases restore the same way.

Is there a free trial?

Not at the moment. The identification and the boosting are free and unlimited, which is a fairly complete look at what the app does before any money changes hands.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are the store’s to give, under Apple’s and Google’s own policies, and are requested through them rather than through us.
